Mission statement

Your 10 Trees aims to teach people

that every individual can and must
make a difference to stop global

warming, arguably the greatest

global issue of this century.

We believe that planting trees is the

most effective, easiest and by far the

cheapest global warming solution.

Our mission is for every individual to

plant 10 – 20 trees each year to

offset their carbon footprint and give

something back to our planet. Pope Benedict XVI made the Vatican the first carbon neutral state and Pope Francis has a duty to follow in his footsteps.  He said, “Creation is a gift, it is a wonderful gift that God has given us, so that we care for it and we use it for the benefit of all, always with great respect and gratitude.”

Your 10 Trees is proud to be founded on religious moral and life principles.  Much of our inspiration has been based on the powerful verses from the Bible. After Cain killed Abel, he responded to God saying “Am I my brother's keeper?” The answer to this question is yes, we all do have a responsibility to look after each other.

In Genesis 33:12, we read about what Esau said to Jacob  “'Let us take our journey, and let us go (together.)”  and Jacob replied “the children are tender, and the young flocks and herds are a care to me; if I overdrive them one day, all the flocks will die”  There are many lessons that can be learned from this passage of the Bible. One of the hidden gems, though, is this: - the key to Jacob's success was to take small steps at a time. If we do the same and all take a small step in the right direction, we can make a difference - a difference to the world, a difference to people.  As I write this, there are millions of people in third world countries who are suffering from extreme weather such as dry winters, flooding and storms. These cause harsher living conditions, destruction of the food supply and medical emergencies. Our small steps will help them.

We started encouraging as many people as possible to find solutions for climate change. When we did, it was important to us that throughout the whole process, both the people involved and the environment should be looked after. We didn't want one area or group of people to be compromised because of another area's success.

For this reason, we take great care to ensure the entire process is 'green friendly'. We take into consideration where we plant the trees, how we plant the trees and how we run our offices. Everyone working at Your 10 Trees walks or rides to work, paper is only printed when necessary and solar panels are fitted to the roof to minimize electricity usage.

The entire organisation of Your 10 Trees is driven to provide the most effective, practical and cost effective forms of protecting our beautiful, God given planet.

At a speech in the Philippines in 2015, Pope Francis again spoke about global warming: “I think man has gone too far,” he said. “Thank G-d that today there are voices that are speaking out about this.”

We are so happy to be a few of those voices.
